From Obamacare to Amnesty, Obama’s Goals Threaten U.S. Economy

Congress just completed the first phase of a difficult but crucial battle against Obamacare.  This struggle is yet unfinished, but conservatives will continue to fight against Obamacare because it will harm America as long as it remains law.  Obamacare is a fiscal nightmare for our country, which is already saddled with $17 trillion of debt.  But leftist policy ideas that threaten the economy don’t stop there.  The next big battle will be to prevent amnesty, the vehicle for which may be the Senate’s Gang of 8 bill.

Under the Affordable Care Act, entitlement spending will increase massively, growing our nation’s debt; entitlement spending is already a massive source of our debt in America which will only be exacerbated by the Affordable Care Act.  And if the nearly 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States are granted amnesty, they will become eligible for entitlements as well.  This cost will be a massive burden to the U.S. economy and the American taxpayers.  The Heritage Foundation explains:

The Senate-passed bill anticipates granting amnesty to some 11 million people who are living in America illegally. Although proponents of this so-called path to citizenship blithely assure us that it won’t cost the taxpayer a dime, rigorous analysis by The Heritage Foundation reveals that’s just not so.  In fact, it will cost at least several trillions.

Today, the typical illegal immigrant is 34 years old, has a 10th-grade education and lives in a household that already receives $14,387 more in government benefits than it pays in taxes. After an “interim” period of 13 years set by the Senate bill, that typical household would become eligible for the full panoply of welfare and entitlements. (emphasis added)

Clearly Obamacare threatens our economy, and amnesty would place further burdens on it that the American people cannot bear.  Heritage notes:

Policymakers must ensure that the interaction of social services and immigration policy does not expand the welfare state and impose significant costs on American society.

Some members of the House have called for a step by step approach to immigration reform, which would be a reasonable approach in different circumstances.

However, at this time, even a step-by-step process in the House may result in a massive and complex amnesty bill like the Gang of 8 bill, becoming law, if the House and Senate go to conference.

Last month Senator Mike Lee and Sen. Jeff Sessions articulated this concern clearly:

We are concerned, however, that the House will pass individual, incremental bills only to have them cobbled together in a backroom deal with Majority Leader Reid and the Gang of Eight. Through a series of procedural maneuvers, House leaders could agree to begin negotiations with the Senate, known as a conference, using one of these smaller, targeted bills, while the Senate could bring the Gang of Eight bill to the negotiations.

Conservatives need to sand firm in opposition to Mr. Obama’s policies, which are clearly detrimental to the economy.

    • Well, I disagree. I noticed only one thing in my city while the government was shut down. The gas prices were 10 cents per gallon cheaper. Nothing else was an issue. I even drove through two state parks on the weekend, due to the cheaper gas rate and enjoyed the fact our leaders were trying to stop this miserable idiot the Oshow from transforming our system even more.

Lets just ponder the fact that the exchange website does not work, or works very badly at best. Well that may be because Obamacare does not deal with healthcare as we know it. It only generates more bureaucracy and chaos to build their agenda of controlling us all. IRS have been running peoples credit when they sign up, it might be the reason for the crashes. Why would they need to run your credit when you sign up for Obamacare??? I think we need to research what they are trying to do instead of thinking it is about healthcare…..

      • I think that what obummer and his pals are trying to do is hold on until his monstrosity of a plan, cooked up by brown-nosed reid and pelosi, falls on its ugly face; when it does, he’ll have them run up a total single-payer (government) plan thus forcing insurance companies out of business and the taxpayers paying ever more in taxes to support the parasitic swimmers he also wants to cover. This translates into demmie/liberal/progressive/socialist votes.

        • It is clear to me, that your analysis is their plan, a crash the current system, blow up the new system, because it does not work and by the way, we have a solution, single payer. Cloward and Piven…..Socialist, Communist Extraordinaire.

I have had the same health insurance for 25 years. I received my first major increase a few months after the bill was signed by Ochaos. That increase was 600%. I called my insurance agent, and he stated that it was not a typo, but due to the change in the healthcare law. So, I could not afford this increase, and have never been without insurance, so I changed to an HSA plan for my whole family. High deductible and so on. That was good for a time, we are a healthy family so it did not hurt so much. But, now is the kicker. I have received just this week another 150% increase due to O “sh#t Care”, Why is my question??? Here is why. They are not going to get the number of folks to sign up, and therefore, those of us that pay, have to pay for everyone. That is nothing new. But, now I have to have maternity insurance for my son, and my self. I need to have it for my wife, which she has it now, and later??????? This is the stupidity that we are living under.

We need to stand for what is correct. Stand together, and take this country back now. We have very little time.

I read a book by Mark Levin, “The Liberty Amendments”. This was a very good book. It gave some solutions if we the people want to fight this fight and have a method to voice what we want and actually get it. We have to get informed. I like this post. Found it today.

  1. We knew it was coming, but not sure if his voters knew.

“If the Democrats get their way, there will be no limit to the infringements of people’s freedom. Citizen’s health, education, incomes, property, and lives will essentially be majority-controlled by the state. We will effectively have a government that runs a nation, and not the other way around. ”
Did Obama voters know this is what they voted for Obama for?
This is why we need people like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Thomas Massie, Ron DeSantis in the Congress to fight for us.

    From the link:
(Translation from Democrat into plain English is my own.)

    1. Open Borders Policy — So millions more people from all around the world can come to America illegally and loot the burgeoning welfare state. Oh, and vote Democrat.

    2. Higher Taxes — In addition to the 21 new taxes set to hit under Taxmageddon in 2013, there is more talk of what Rep. Raul Grijalva of Arizona euphemistically referred to as “revenue generation.”

    3. Climate Change — Whenever one sees the redundant term “climate change” in a policy discussion, be prepared to get our your wallet and shell out some more “green.” The UN wants to squeeze American taxpayers for tens of trillions of dollars to redistribute around the world (minus the middleman’s fee) to aright for “climate crimes.” Whether or not one has believed the climatapocalypse was going to happen the very next minute for the last 25 years, the days of thrifty suburban altruism that has been the hallmark card of the green movement are actually coming to an end.

    4. Free Housing — Housing is a universal human right, so it only follows that the remaining suckers should work and pay over half their incomes to provide for people’s homes around the planet (in addition to other cool things like free cellphones). Don’t worry if you are broke and can’t find a job, I am sure there are plenty of shovels laying around.

    5. Miserable Job Growth — Obama’s laserlike focus on jobs has produced such dazzling results already, we can only hope that he focuses a little less so that the economy doesn’t overheat. Expect the Democrats’ stellar record to continue towards Greek or Spanish levels of 25%, Portuguese or Irish levels of 20% if we’re lucky.

    6. Shrinking GDP — Productivity will continue to decline as people opt to go into government or onto the government dole. Service sector jobs will still dominate, given the daunting environmental and financial regulatory hurdles imposed by the state.

    7. Trillion Dollar Deficits — Due to such increasingly expensive programs as Obamacare, and government spending without end, the more than trillion dollar deficits we saw each year under President Obama will become permanent and worse. Due to interest paid on our bonds and monetization of the debt, the financial situation will continue to deteriorate.

    8. Dollar Deterioration — And accompanying inflation, in conjunction with slowing productivity, will mean that Americans will see their savings and their net worths decay. On the positive side, those insurmountable debts many Americans have accrued would be easier to pay off. If one can find a decent-paying job, that is.

    9. More Credit Downgrades — Given that the Federal Reserve Bank is purchasing almost our entire deficit, guaranteeing that there won’t be any effective structural economic reform, there will be decreasing confidence in an economic model slated by the CBO to implode in 2027. Make sure you circle your calendars and have some vaykay time scheduled.

    10. Tax Policy Unchanged – The Democrats had plenty of opportunity to close loopholes for corporations in Obama’s first two years and instead gave tax breaks to huge corporations like GE and GM. Expect such follow-through on their promises to continue in regards to their party pals.

    11. Education Centralization — The Democrat Party will show increasing hostility to school choice, whether the option be home-schooling or private schooling. One even finds it hard to imagine that the self-education people are getting online will be allowed to continue unfettered.12. Regulatory Stranglehold — One of the problems with overregulation is that it begets more overregulation. The genius bureaucrats in the government can only think of one solution to solve America’s problems — and it isn’t leaving people alone.

    13. Loss of Liberty — Americans will be unable to avoid the federal government, even if one escapes flying the commercial airline travel locked down by the ever-more-grabby TSA. Seventy percent of small business owners surveyed say they would not open a business in the current environment, let along under a successive Obama administration. When implemented, Obamacare will resemble the DMV, except with surgical equipment.

If the Democrats get their way, there will be no limit to the infringements of people’s freedom. Citizen’s health, education, incomes, property, and lives will essentially be majority-controlled by the state. We will effectively have a government that runs a nation, and not the other way around. Voters might want to choose a presidential candidate who wants to let America be America, instead of an ex-community organizer who wants to fundamentally transform a world superpower.

  2. We as people shouldn’t make decisions based on what we believe will be help us to avoid difficulties. We can grow and learn to become more resilient by overcoming difficult situations. Now ask yourself why you wish to avoid this situation and who’s interests are you seeking to preserve? Group mentalities tear apart humanity as we use them decide whom we wish to include in our group of deserving and those which we see as outside and therefore undeserving. According to the Center for Immigration Studies in 1999 the average income for an illegal Mexican immigrant is $15,207 and for the legal Mexican immigrant is $21,194. Not that but they also noticed a increase by length of residence. Workers who had been here for 10 years or less made on average $4,000 less that those who had been here for 11 to 20 years. We could use some help here in the states and we need more people to support our ever increasing portion of the population that is too old to give back to the system but continues to draw benefits from it. The reality is that here in the states we are not producing the number of offspring needed to help our economy continually grow at the rates we have seen in the past and wish to maintain.
