Update: Senate to Consider Obamacare Repeal

The Senate may vote whether to repeal Obamacare sometime this week.

Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) will file his Obamacare repeal bill (S. 192), which has the support of every Senate Republican, as an amendment to the FAA re-authorization bill.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) might try to stymie the vote so he can bolster support among leery Democrats at their retreat planned for Wednesday-Friday of next week,

The Senate may also vote on a repeal of Obamacare’s 1099 provision, a $19 billion tax on small business.  Senator Mike Johanns’ (R-NE) bill (S.18), has 60 cosponsors.

  1. I live in California and emailing Senator Boxer to support the repeal of Obamacare would do absolutely no good. I would like Heritage Foundation to provide the names and contact info for the 23 Dems in the Senate who will be up for re-election in 2012 . . .those are the ones we need to concentrate on since getting re-elected is all they seem to really care about.

    • Barbara,

I think I understand your concern. Senators require emails to come from people that live in their states. That’s why we say ’email your senator’–while you can call, you can’t email other states’ senators.

  3. It isn’t just about the money. I think it is ObamaScare because of the mandated care, tests, and loss of control in our own health.
I want freedom to choose my own health care methods and insurance.

  5. I so want to get Obama and the rest of the leftist parts of the Federal government off of the rest of the real Americans. If he get’s reelected God help us all. I am not understanding why some of the Republicans are not standing up for what they were elected for and promised us the rest of us they would do. Why not email other state senators
