Biden Title IX Rule Marks Most Radical Effort to Redefine Gender, Heritage Action Launches Comment Portal to Fight Back

Press Releases · Jul 12, 2022

WASHINGTON – Today, Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, released a statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson following the official release of the Biden administration’s Title IX proposed rule and Heritage Action’s grassroots comment portal.

The Biden Administration’s Title IX rule marks the most aggressive effort by the Left to disadvantage women by redefining gender. By seeking to force woke gender identity into Title IX and allow biological men into women’s sports, this proposal would deprive women of privacy and safety, take academic and athletic opportunities away from girls, and jeopardize federal funding for every school that stands for women’s rights.

The Biden administration knows that their radical gender identity agenda is completely misaligned with the values of the American people, so they are attempting to sneak policy into a weaponized federal rulemaking process. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed. Heritage Action is launching a nationwide call to action for the grassroots with a custom activist tool kit and comment portal for the American people to fight back and make their voices heard in opposition.

BACKGROUND:

  • The Biden administration formally announced their radical proposed changes to the longstanding federal Title IX rule. Title IX has prohibited sex discrimination in any educational program or activity receiving federal funding for the past fifty years. Biden’s proposed changes, however, would include gender identity in the rule, effectively eliminating gender and destroying women’s protections and opportunities.

  • In anticipation of the rule, Heritage Action published a toolkit to educate Americans on the impacts of this rule change and equip them with ways to fight back.

  • Citizens can submit individual comments to the rule to make sure their voices are heard. Heritage Action launched a comment portal with specific instructions here.

  • In Congress, Heritage Action key voted cosponsorship of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, introduced by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.). The legislation would ensure that biological women are not forced to compete against biological men in sports.

  • Following the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Climate Disclosure Rule, Heritage Action published a toolkit and comment portal, receiving over 6,000 comments in under a week.
