Hello,

My name is [NAME] and I am a constituent from [CITY, STATE].

I am calling to urge you to oppose the extreme $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.

This spending is not paid for and it will likely add over a trillion dollars to the national debt. This is money that we don’t have and that our children and grandchildren will have to pay off in the future.

This bill hurts the American worker by raising our taxes—Joe Biden is breaking his campaign promise not to raise taxes for anyone making less than $400k. Even Congress’ referee, Joint Committee on Taxation, agrees that any family making over $50k a year will see tax increases.

There isn’t anyone this bill doesn’t try to tax:

  • It raises taxes on energy producers, so my gas and electric bill will go up.
  • It taxes both tobacco products AND tobacco cessation devices (you lose either way).
  • It even expands the death tax.

And the inflation and rise in prices from $3.5 trillion in spending will squeeze paychecks—a dollar just won’t go as far. This hurts the working class and retired people who are living on a fixed income.

Please oppose this $3.5 trillion tax, borrow, and spending bill—don’t bankrupt our country with more debt.

Thank you for passing along my message. Have a good day.
