In Case you Missed It: Rep. Lamborn (R-CO) Chat

Last night, nearly 2,000 people joined our live State of the Union chat with Congressman Doug Lamborn (R-CO). Joining Rep. Lamborn was his wife and members of his congressional staff, along with several members of Heritage Action.

As you may recall, Rep. Lamborn made the headlines earlier this week for his refusal to attend President Obama’s State of the Union address. He began the chat by reiterating why he was not attending:

“I declined to attend the SOTU in order to send a clear message that I do not support the policies of President Obama, but respect him and the office. These include his recent “recess appointments” to the NLRB and newly-created Consumer Protection Board, the rejection of the Keystone, draconian cuts to defense, and deficit spending.”

As the President began his speech rhetoric about “fairness,” which, in his mind, means taking from one group of people who earned their money and giving it to a group who did not, Rep. Lamborn asked a poignant question:

“Is it fair to ask any American, rich or poor, to give up their hard earned money so you can waste it on things like Solyndra? And that is just one example of the rampant waste of taxpayer dollars.”

We won’t give away all the details, so click here to read the entire chat and untangle the spin of the State of the Union!

  1. Participating in this chat was fun. Normally a liberal State of the Union gets me down, but not last night. Thanks to Rep. Lamborn and all who participated.

    Now let’s advance conservative policy!

  2. I’d like to say one thing to Obama. We have immigration laws for a reason. To vet out criminals, people with communicable diseases and people that have no means of support. You spit in the face of every legal immigrant when you help ILLEGALS.

  3. Hello Gentleman
One of the questions I posed to President Obama was ”

Will you work with people like Andre Barnett, Reform Party Member & Candidate the USA, to roll back the legislation & executive orders drafted from the 1930’s – 1970’s to decrease the government’s control & make them beholded to the will of the people?”

Let’s see if he is realy up the addressing the real issues.
