Whoops! Bill Clinton Admits New “Green” Energy Program a “Gamble”
Moments ago, in a televised press conference, former President Bill Clinton admitted that the Obama Administration’s new venture into energy efficiency is a big gamble: (Watch the video here!)
“I just want to say how grateful I am…for the work that labor has done in putting up some of the pension funds from California and some other funds they have to actually invest their own money, gambling that they can get a reasonable return in putting people to work.” (emphasis added)
If unions, or anyone else for that matter, want to gamble with their own money, that’s fine. However, President Obama has made a habit of using taxpayer dollars to jumpstart “green” energy initiatives because he believes they will work. The government is continuing to play venture capitalists (with our money) and we have seen how well that has worked in the past (think Solyndra.)
No government – whether Republican or Democrat – should be “gambling” with taxpayer funds. If the President or his energy secretary wants to play venture capitalist, they should find a job in the private sector.
