Democrats Call for Budget Action
It’s about time. Senate Democrats are starting to groan about the absence of a budget from their party. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said a couple weeks ago that it would be “foolish” to propose a budget at this point.
But voters are starting to realize that liberals would rather demagogue conservative reform efforts than create a plan of their own, Senate Democrats are getting nervous. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) said:
“On the budget front, I’m not a happy camper around here. I think we need to have a budget that we stand by.”
Wouldn’t that be nice? Since every Democrat in the Senate and many in the House voted down EVERY budget proposal it would be great for voters to know what they plan to do about our fiscal crisis. Other Senate Democrats have also expressed concern over the lack of a budget:
“In the states, you can’t do this in the states – you’ve got to move.” – Joe Manchin (D-WV)
“[Not having a budget] makes it harder to do things that we just need to do…” – Mark Pryor (D-AR)
When Democrats start getting worried about the politics of not producing a budget, it’s time to produce a budget.
