Sunday Show Preview – Arizona, Obamacare and Spending
The tragedy in Tucson will dominate the Sunday talk shows. Discussions could easily pivot to repeal of Obamacare, though, as many liberals are decrying attempts to repeal the law as antagonistic and harmful to efforts to set a new tone. Such accusations are absurd, of course; but do not be surprised to see them gain traction this Sunday.
On CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Bob Schieffer will discuss the aftermath of the Arizona shootings. Look for discussion to turn quickly towards gun control, with guests including NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani, Gov. Rendell (D-PA), Senator Gillibrand (D-NY), Representative Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) and Representative Flake (R-AZ).
On FOX’s “Fox News Sunday,” Chris Wallace will discuss spending and public employee benefits with Governor Christie (R-NJ) and presidential aspirations with former Governor Tim Pawlenty (R-MN).
On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” David Gregory will discuss the aftermath of the Arizona shooting. Again, look for discussion to turn quickly toward gun control and the tone of legislative debates, with guests including Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).
On ABCs “This Week,” Christiane Amanpour will host a town hall discussion from Tucson, Arizona.
