This week, the Senate will try to tear apart America’s constitution by appointing Richard Cordray to be a new, all-powerful, super bureaucrat.  President Obama nominated Cordray to head up the unaccountable Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Here’s the message conservatives need to give to their Senators:

  1. Please vote NO on “Super Bureaucrat” Richard Cordray
  2. The CFBP, created by Dodd-Frank, is a vast, unaccountable bureaucracy
  3. Housed within the Federal Reserve, it can operate unchecked by Congress and the President
  4. America needs more accountability from government, not less
  5. Voting NO on Cordray can block this unaccountable bureaucracy from enacting job-killing regulations

Call Utah’s Senators now:

Sen. Mike Lee 202-224-5444

Sen. Orrin Hatch 202-224-5251

In the comments section, let us know how your call went. We’re especially interested in offices that indicate opposition to Richard Cordray’s confirmation.

  1. Both Sen. Hatch, and Sen. Lee’s receptionists were extremely cordial. My question: Do the senator’s staffs need to ask for my identifying information? (They basically said that lots of constituents have called in regarding Richard Cordray’s appointment, and that they’d make sure the senators got my message of oppostion to Mr. Cordray with the other constituents.)

    • They usually ask for that information to confirm you are a constituent. A lot of folks call offices from outside the state, and those messages are typically ignored in the call logs the staffers keep.
