Heritage Action Signs Letter Supporting Oklahoma AG Scott Pruitt for EPA
Heritage Action’s CEO Mike Needham has signed-on to a coalition letter expressing support for Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt’s nomination to head the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Sent to members of the U.S. Senate, the letter highlights some of the challenges facing the agency and Pruitt’s qualifications to bring the agency back to Constitutional principles moving forward.
Heritage Action argues that Pruitt make sure the agency works for “American families and consumers,” not D.C. bureaucrats. As the Oklahoma Attorney General, Pruitt has fought to restrain the EPA’s constitutionally questionable actions including the Waters of The United States rule, which seeks to regulate nearly every body of water, even man-made ditches, in violation of private property rights.
Restoring Constitutional principles and accountability to the EPA will ensure the agency fulfills its mission, under the law, without creating an undue burden on economic growth. The Senate must act to confirm Pruitt as EPA administrator.
