Heritage Action Applauds Passage of Permanent Internet Tax Moratorium (H.R. 3086)

Washington –  This afternoon, the House of Representatives passed by voice vote H.R. 3086, which permanently extends the current moratorium on state and local taxation of the Internet. Upon House passage, Heritage Action released the following statement from chief executive officer Michael A. Needham:

“It is rare that good policy receives such overwhelming bipartisan support in Washington, but making the Internet tax moratorium permanent appears to be an exception. The Permanent Internet Tax Freedom Act should not be held hostage to Washington special interests seeking to advance unpopular proposals such as an Internet sales tax.  The Senate should take it up and send it to the President for his signature without delay.”
