House

Major Floor Action

  • H.R. 3590 – Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act of 2013
  • H.R. 3964 – Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley Emergency Water Delivery Act
  • H.R. 2954 – The Public Access and Lands Improvement Act

Major Committee Action

Senate

Analysis: This week, the Senate will vote on the food stamp and farm bill, which the House passed last week.  This legislation will cost nearly $1 trillion and fails to make desperately needed reforms.   About 80 percent of the spending in the bill goes to food stamps, and it maintains taxpayer-funded subsides for wealthy farmers.  For example, no reforms were made to the costly crop insurance program, which forces taxpayers to subsidize 62 percent of the premiums for farmers.

Major Floor Action

  • H.R. 2642 – Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act of 2013
