Yet Again, No Budget from Senate Democrats
Earlier today, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) admitted that for the third year in a row, Senate Democrats would not vote on a budget.
Just like last year, Senate Budget Chairman Kent Conrad claimed that he would produce a budget. Last week, Sen. Conrad said he planned to mark up (sound familiar?) a budget in committee. Well, Sen. Reid doesn’t care:
“Now, Sen. Conrad may mark something up in his Budget Committee. . . . It doesn’t have to come to the floor.”
This, coming from the man who even earlier today said of Senate Republicans:
“We’re more than a month into the new year…They are still arguing over whether they should have a positive agenda.”
Well, Mr. Majority Leader, it’s been more than 1000 days since your party has produced a budget, which is part of your job. Maybe it’s time you come clean with the American people and let them know your vision of how to rescue our economy, and let the people truly decide which party has a better plan.
