Heritage Action’s Week in Review

We’ve received a lot of feedback since the launch of our legislative scorecard, some good – and some very personal. But one interesting thing to note is the increase in co-sponsorships since the scorecard has been released:

  • 9 more Representatives have added their support to the GSE Bailout Elimination and Taxpayer Protection Act (H.R.11182)
  • 17 more Representatives have added their support to the Welfare Reform Act of 2011(H.R.1167)
  • 22 more Representatives have added their support to the Defending America’s Affordable Energy and Jobs Act (H.R.750)
  • 26 more Representatives have added their support for the A-PLUSs Act (H.R.2514)

The addition of cosponsors to the GSE Bailout Act and A-PLUS Act is especially interesting because both of these bills now have surpassed the amount of co-sponsorships they had during the 111th Congress:

  • In the 111th Congress, the GSE Bailout Act had just 21 cosponsors, it now has 64
  • In the 111th Congress, the A-PLUS Act had 56 cosponsors, it now has 62

Conservatives are gaining ground, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. The more conservatives that sign on to these bills, the more traction they’ll get in this Congress and the next.
