You’re funding a $3 million pro-Obamacare ad campaign

Americans have been clear: they want Obamacare repealed.  The Washington Post acknowledges support for Obamacare “dips lower among those who are most likely to turn out in November.”  Rasmussen agrees – 55% of likely voters favor repeal.  That is a bad omen for President Obama’s signature accomplishment.

According to the Politico, the administration is fighting back, albeit with your money:

The Obama administration has spent approximately $3 million on TV ads discussing the benefits of health care reform this month — three times what was spent by pro-reform candidates …

The spending is objectionable, but also revealing.  Most pro-Obamacare Democrats have disappeared.  Again, the Politico:

In recent days, a handful of Democratic incumbents, including Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D-N.D.), Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.), Rep. Scott Murphy (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-Penn.), have run ads backing the reform bill they supported. But they’re still the exception to the rule.

Even in deep-blue Wisconsin, Senator Feingold’s embrace of Obamacare was tepid, at best.  The ad only mentions he is “fighting the insurance companies.”  (Remember, many of those insurance companies lobbied for Obamacare and donated heavily to President’s campaign.)  That is far from a warm embrace of the unpopular new law, which is not surprising.  Again, according to Rasmussen, even one out of every three Democrats now support repeal.

Bottom line: repeal is possible.  No amount of abused taxpayer dollars or media spin about politicians embracing Obamacare will convince Americans to support the law.
