Driving the Day: Obamacare Goes to Court, Again

Obamacare goes on trial today in Richmond, Virginia.  The state’s attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli, will argue Obamacare’s individual mandate is unconstitutional.  According to the Washington Post, the Judge Henry E. Hudson is not expected to issue a ruling today.  The Post goes on to say:

If Hudson, who was appointed to the bench in 2002 by President Bush, were to rule that the sweeping law is unconstitutional, its national implementation would be halted. However, the Obama administration would likely seek a stay of the ruling while it pursued appeals. Both sides have said they believe the law’s constitutionality will ultimately be resolved by the United States Supreme Court.

With bipartisan support in Congress for repeal, the ramification of Judge Hudson’s decision – and the tone of today’s hearing – cannot be understated.  If politicians believe the court will rule Obamacare is unconstitutional (and it is), support for repeal will continue to increase.

But Americans need to stay engaged to make repeal a reality.  Conservative activists all across the country are joining with Heritage Action, logging onto our activist platform, to get the latest news and action alerts from conservatives they trust.  Join them, and us, in the fight to repeal Obamacare.
