The Road to Repeal: Heritage Praises 30 Members of Congress

June 29, 2010

Washington, D.C. – Thirty Members of Congress have signed on to a discharge petition that would force a vote on repealing Obamacare. In doing so, these Representatives join Heritage Action for America in a nationwide campaign to work toward a vote in the House on full repeal.

Heritage Action praises the thirty Representatives who took bold, decisive action on behalf of a majority of Americans who want the law repealed. The discharge petition is a legislative tool that allows Congress to bypass the Speaker’s agenda and bring a bill directly to the House Floor for a vote with 218 signatures.

“The American people are looking for bold leadership,” said Heritage Action CEO Michael A. Needham. “These thirty Members of Congress are providing that leadership and deserve to be praised for getting out in front on this issue. I fully expect more members to sign the discharge petition as the pressure for repeal continues to build.”

The following Members of Congress have signed the discharge petition:

Jo Bonner (R-Alabama)
John Boozman (R-Arkansas)
Trent Franks (R-Arizona)
Gary G. Miller (R-California)
Doug Lamborn (R-Colorado)
Connie Mack (R-Florida)
